“What does being an Authorised Celebrant mean to me?”
“Being a Authorised Celebrant means the world to me. I was involved in Family Law for a number of years and I guess you could say that this is the flip side of that..... I love seeing the joy on a couples face when I announce them 'Husband and Wife', the nervous excitement as they walk too or stand beside that one person they love, like you could love no other. The Groom as he waits for his Bride.....
Getting to know the Bride and Groom, or the family and child or children in the lead up to their special day, means that when I stand before you both on your wedding day, or on your child's Naming Day, we are not strangers to each other, but instead we have become friends.
I remember every moment of the lead up to my wedding day (though some moments are still are blurr .... I think more because of being so emotional!). My parents and brother and other family members having come from overseas to be there for us. The emotion, the excitement and yes the nervousness! I Walking towards my husband to be .... the tears in his eyes. The tears in mine! These are my special memories, mixed with many, many more that I love to remember.....
But this is your Wedding Ceremony, or your child's Naming Ceremony, your special moment in time or your child's and these are your memories that you are creating.
That is another reason I love be a Celebrant, because I can help you to create the Ceremony that is just for you.... To me that is just as it should be”. |
